On Friday 11th March, year 7 assembly was hosted by Flick and Odille - two archaeologists who have been working in the local area. Students saw finds from the Angmering site, and were given the opportunity to learn what these tell us about our local area. After the talk, the students had the opportunity to ask about the site, as well as archaeology as a career more generally, with our guests sharing interesting stories about their time in the profession. As well as this, students were given the opportunity to look at the finds up close, including a pot, some burnt seeds and even an axe! Overall, it was a great morning which engaged students in their local history - and the history department have had many students asking about a career in archaeology since!
