Year 10 Chinese Cuisine Class
Two Chinese ambassadors from the Fun Chinese cuisine charity visited -Phoenix Wong & Laila Henry-Smith. They delivered an input to both our yr10 classes on Chinese cuisine, on different regional foods in China & the origins of famous Chinese sauces. They learnt that the oyster sauce was made by accident! They talked about Chinese festivals, particularly Chinese new year, the history of giving fortune cookies & mooncakes.
Both Chinese ambassadors demonstrated Hoisin chicken with vegetables. Then the students made the dish individually & presented it to enter to win a prize. They provided the sauces as well as chopsticks. Students enjoyed the activity and ate or took home the dishes they made.
