Year 10 Sealife Trip
On Wednesday 23rd November, 39 intrepid students and 4 members of staff departed The Angmering School to go on the first educational Art and Photography trip since the pandemic. We headed to The Sealife Centre and Brighton seafront to study marine life and discover the photographic opportunities the pier and beach had to offer. The weather was awful when we got to school and we were all worried that our day would be spoiled, however, as we waited for the coach, the rain dried up and the sun came out.
We got to The Sealife Centre in good time and made our way to the auditorium to watch the giant turtles being fed - amazing creatures. Art students then spent their time taking quick sketches of jellyfish, sharks, turtles etc and produced some amazing work that they will use for a project after Christmas. The biggest problem the artists had was that their "fishy" models kept moving! Photographers took lots of photos of what they saw but were careful not to use a flash as this would harm the sea life.
We all met for lunch and then headed off to the beach and pier for both artists and photographers to take some photos of what they saw. Although it wasn't raining, it was very windy which provided some great photographic opportunities of the sea.
All students were incredibly well behaved, polite to the public and a joy to take on the trip. Mr Bowles, Mrs Short, Mr Rakhdoune and Mrs Mitchelmore were very proud of how our school was represented. Well done Year 10!
