On Wednesday 5th February nearly 100 Angmering School students (including a number of 6th form students) competed at the Portsmouth Guildhall Theatre for Dance Live! with our piece 'Betelguese'. The piece followed the story of Beetlejuice and how he became the poltergeist we know today. This was a departure from our more recent serious pieces, and it was clear how much fun the dancers were having on stage, embracing the lighthearted nature of the movement vocabulary and performing with excellent characterisation and expressive skills. The students behaved impeccably all day and were a real credit to the dance department and the Angmering School.

We were lucky enough to be placed third overall and also won an award for costume.

A massive thank you to our fantastic stage crew and technical team (Darcie, Ciara, Charlie, Harrison and Chris led by Miss Rumsey) and to all the staff who accompanied us on the day (Miss Pegden, Mr Pearson, Miss Hickman, Mr Jenner, Miss Street, Miss Warner) and a big shout out to Abi Merritt-Blann for coming back to help with make-up.

Thank you to all Parents/carers for your continued support of this fantastic event, we couldn't do it without you!
